Come and join me on Sunday March 13th, 2016.
I will be running a workshop exploring BANANA fibre.
This workshop focuses on learning how to use the abundant, locally grown banana plant. We will be using techniques used in traditional cultures since ancient times:
-harvesting and processing banana fibre,
-string (cordage) making from banana fibre,
-knotless netting to make a billum (string bag),
-coiling a basket.
All this using only your hands and a few very simple tools. At the end of the day you will be able to take home your creations and the banana fibre you've processed.
Suitable for all skill levels.
$125 (includes a vegetarian lunch, all materials and tools).
Limited to 10 participants.
